The Shimano Stradic has proven to be a classic for Shimano and their loyal fans. The mid-priced feature-packed spin reels have delivered faultless performance consistently since the first-ever release.
The former Stradic, the now discontinued FK, was a formidable spin reel. However, the newer model Stradic is a tour de force of Shimano’s best spin reel technology and set to change the way we perceive mid-priced spin reels.
Shimano Stradic reels are highly tuned performance powerhouse kit which clouts well above their considerably lightweight status. The new Stradic reels cover the lightest of inshore finesse fishing to super-light offshore sports fishing. In the larger size models, they’re also a brilliant choice for the majority of light surf fishing applications and ideal for sports work on the ocean rocks.
Leaving its older siblings in its wake, the new Stradic models have taken some technology from Shimano stable leader Stella. The new Fl, for example, includes features such as Micromodule Gear II, Silent Drive, X-Protect and a Long Stroke Spool.
The new Shimano Stradic reels are for sale now at the fishing tackle shop. Review our listings and check out our complete range for the best priced Stradic online.
Micromodule Gear II new to FL model - Micromodule Gear II is the heart of Shimano’s flagship reels the Stela. Now, this superb gear technology is at the heart of the new Stradic, a fishing reel more than half the price of the Stella. Shimano Hagane gear quality now has the addition of Micromodule Gear II.
This feature reduces the size of gear teeth but increases the number of teeth. The result is an astonishingly smooth crank due to improved contact between gears. Smooth as silk, strong as an ox.
X-Protect - Water ingress in a reel killer, and it’s a no brainer that at some point your reel will be exposed to water, even worse, saltwater. X-Protect is Shimano’s answer to keeping critical moving parts free from the damaging effects of water.
X-Protect combines internal water replant and a labyrinth structure that channels water away from critical parts sensitive to water. The mechanism remains functional even under the stress of hydraulic pressure.
Featured in the line roller section and the roller clutch assembly, the line roller is now much more durable than the previous models.
Silent Drive - There’s nothing quite like a whisper crank. With Shimano’s Silent Drive technology, it’s like you’re cranking in the vacuum of space – you can hardly hear a thing. This is because Shimano has engineered the tiniest of tolerances over the entire reel, especially the small, intricate moving parts.
The drive train, drive gear, worm shaft pin and gear, have been machined to within a micro millimetre of their lives to eliminate and gaps that allow movement.
Long Stroke AR-C Spool - The AR-C technology has been around for a while, ensuring the spool lip shape allow for easy release and reduced friction when casting. The result is a more extended, smoother more accurate cast. Stradic reels make a brilliant light line long cast inshore reel, increasing its versatility.
Stradic Reel Versatility - Due to the outstanding performance features, the Shimano Stradic reels are incredibly versatile. The smaller models cover most inshore application, with the ability to cope with everything from finesse in the isolated mountain rivers to pulling barra in the top end.
Strap on a 4000 or 5000 and you access the beach, rocks and open ocean for an incredible range of sports fish, bottom-dwelling and reef fish too numerous to mention.
Shimano technology lists such as this once were reserved for the absolute top shelf. Now you can have the best of technology in your new Stradic reel. For sale now at Fishing Tackle Shop.
