Looking For Smaller Size Shimano Sedona FI Fishing Reels? –See our Full range for sale here

The backbone of many an anglers kit is their 4000 or 5000 size fishing reel. It’s a utility that will cover many applications inshore, nearshore and for the sports minded, offshore. It’s the perfect size for light beach anglers and rock hoppers seeking the likes of Bream, Drummer, Tailor, Bonito, Salmon, whiting, dart, smaller Mackerel and a whole lot more.

It’s perfect for those chasing barramundi, murray cod, snapper, and the offshore anglers will love the sport on smaller pelagic species. When you are fishing the bays and Harbours, a Shimano Sedona 4000 FI or Shimano Sedona 5000 Fi Reel is a great size. It’s not overkill for smaller species when rigged light, and you have all the fighting power you need to turn the head of a larger Mulloway should it take your bait.

The New Shimano Sedona 2017 released model has received a significant upgrade from its older sibling. While still available at the entry level price, Shimano fans on a budget will now enjoy the benefits of Hagane gears and the awesome AR-C spool. The famous Hagane gears are at the heart of Sedona 4000 and 5000 fishing reels. The silky-smooth feel, astonishing durability under serious pressure, and the perfect mesh, sees the Sedona punch well above its price tag. Of course, casting manners are now impeccable with the addition of the ported AR-C spool. Not only is casting brilliant, but it looks amazingly impressive too.

Shimano continue to develop and improve the fishing reels we all can afford. The Shimano Sedona 4000 FI Reel and Sedona 5000 FI Reel provides performance by the boat load with features you see only in more expensive reels. If you are looking for a medium size, all-rounder in a spin reel, you simply cannot go past the Shimano Sedona FI 4000 or 5000 size reel for sale. Get yours now.

Buyers Guide - Fishing applications and Fishing Rod suggestions

Shimano Sedona 4000 FI Reels are suited to heavier inshore fishing such as fishing for murray cod, barramundi, jewfish and can even be used as a heavier reel for bait fishing for bream, flathead and other estuary and lake fish species.  The reel also makes a great light beach or rock fishing reel to chase bream, whiting dart and more. But it doesn’t stop there, the Shimano Sedona 4000 FI Reel makes a great light offshore reel as well for reef fishing and light sport fishing.

Shimano Sedona 5000 FI Reels are suited to the exact same specs as above the only difference is the line capacity, The Shimano Sedona 5000 Reel holds more line and weighs a few grams extra, that’s it! So, if you want a reel with a little more line capacity go a 5000.

When it comes to matching a rod with a Sedona 4000 or 5000 we suggest that it is matched up on a rod around 6-8ft for heavier inshore. Match it to a bait rod rated anywhere around 3-6kg mark or on a graphite lure rod rated up to 10kg for the likes of catching barra, cod and snapper. For light surf fishing we suggest a light 9ft to 11ft graphite coastal surf rod rated around 3-5kg+.

Whatever fishing method you choose to fish we have a rod to match. Head over to our fishing rods category to view our range for sale and if you get stuck or need more help on matching a Sedona 4000 or Sedona 5000 reel to a suitable rod, just get in touch with us.

  • A brilliant and versatile, performance driven all-rounder that every angler can afford.
  • Hagane gears provide superior strength and a silky-smooth crank that can handle serious punishment when pitted against aggressive fish in tough Aussie conditions.
