Our Philosophy

Fishing Tackle Shop we are here for you the customer and do our best to provide the best customer experience we can possibly deliver. As part of this we understand that online shopping is a totally different experience to in store purchasing and there may be times and situations where you may need to return a product from our online fishing and outdoors store.

At Fishing tackle shop we want to try and make the return process easy and simple for you and so have written this easy returns policy to give you clear understanding on your options . This policy is of course is in addition to all other rights and remedies that are provided as part of Australian consumer law.

This policy is our online policy and may differ to policies we have for goods purchased in person at our physical stores.

Our Returns Policy

Faulty and damaged goods on delivery

  • Should you receive a product from us that is faulty or damaged that is not caused through your own fault, we will happily swap the item for you for an identical item or another of your choice should you wish. If there is any difference in price you can fix us up for the balance or if the difference in price is in your favour we can refund it or use the balance towards other items of your choice till funds are depleted.
  • You may also elect for a full refund if the goods are faulty or damaged through no fault of your own.
  • Goods will need to be returned and we will happily pay for the postage for the item to be returned in cases that are not your fault. Simply contact us so we can discuss.

I have been sent the wrong item by mistake?

  • It is very rare for us to muck up an order as we use a scan pick verification system. However, in the off chance that we do send an apple instead of an orange so to speak, simply contact us and we will rectify the situation for you pronto. You will not be liable for any return postage costs.

Change of Mind Returns

  • In the case you have received your order and you change your mind as item is not fit for your purpose, it does not arrive in time for your purpose, or for any other reason, as long as you contact us within 3 business days of your order being signed for on delivery, the goods are un-used and in original packaging we will gladly accommodate your needs by exchanging for other items you require.
  • In this particular case however if it is a refund you would like instead of a swap for goods we will still happily accommodate your request but the refund you will receive will be less the postage cost from us to you displayed on invoice, or in the case where a shipping promotion or coupon was received such as free shipping or a dollar amount off shipping, the refund will be less what it would normally be to ship the item without promotion at the full charge displayed on our shipping charges page. ( so if the order was over $80 within our metro Aust network, and automatically came with free shipping then the fee we would deduct is $10 "or the specified cost if higher" to cover most of our costs).
    *There are three exclusions which will incur a higher return/restocking fee. The three item classes are:
    - Scooters ($25.00 return fee deducted from refund)
    - Fishing Rods over 1.05 metre parcel length ($30 or higher if out of network, return fee deducted from refund)
    - Certain camping products, surfboards or any other bulky product over 1.6 metres in length and/or over 15kg in weight - usually up to $80 Return fee deducted from refund) with the exception of OZTENT RV Tents & Watersnake Bow Mounted Electric Motors (Fee P.O.A)
    The higher fees for these three classes are due to the significantly higher postage and processing/manual handling surcharges we incur from our carriers.
  • This applies to domestic returns in Australia. If you are located outside of Australia, the return fee deducted is full postage cost paid in checkout.
  • For all change of mind returns, you will need to pay for return postage to us (registered so that there is proof of delivery) and organize your own carriage back to our store.

What we ask of you

For change of mind returns, you will need to organize your own carriage back to our store. For small items under 105cm you can do this through Australia post. For bulky items such as fishing rods over 105cm, electric motors, surfboards, some tents, Spear guns etc. You will need to contact a courier company. Some that can generally assist you nationally are www.smartsend.com.au www.interparcel.com.au or www.packsend.com.au

When returning your purchase please include a copy of your receipt not only for proof of purchase but so we can reference your order easily when it is returned.

Please include a short cover letter describing why you are returning the item and the course of action that needs to take place such as letting us know what items you require instead or to request refund as per our policy.

Faulty Items / Warranties

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

After a certain period of time of receiving your purchase and the product fails you may need to send your product direct to the supplier for warranty inspection. You can contact us for further advise on this should it be necessary. Goods that have failed will usually need to be inspected by supplier to determine if user error, misuse or genuine product failure whether it be minor or major.

General Points

No receipt? No problems, just contact us first so we can try and locate your purchase online to confirm you have purchased the goods through us.

Purchase of gift vouchers, are non refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Also treat them like cash! Don’t lose them.

DVD’s and books are excluded under our easy returns policy, unless faulty.

Make sure you look after your gear! If your gear is in good order there generally should be no issues when it comes to warranty and dealing with suppliers.

We are located in Australia – If you are purchasing product to be delivered overseas we need to be upfront and honest with you – any warranty provided is for Australian consumers only and if you are overseas returning items to us it may actually not be so easy but contact us to discuss if you have any questions and we will do our best to assist you.
